1. Pay Scale- Level 12 (Rs.78,800-2,09,200) in the Pay matrix of 7th CPC. Total emoluments (excluding HRA and TA) at the time of initial appointment will be RS.78,800 plus DA as applicable per month approximately.

2. Age- Not exceeding 50 years for General category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 53 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government Servant up to Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. 3. Essential Qualificaiton (s)- (A) Educational -

Degree in Law of a recognized University

OR

Master Degree in Law of a recognized University

(B) Experience -

(i) For LLB Degree Holders - Ten years practice at a Bar or ten years’ experience in the State Judicial Service or in the Legal Department of a State Government or of the Central Government or in the processing of applications for registration filed under the Trade Marks Act or Geographical Indications Act or in teaching law in a recognized University,

OR

(ii) For LLM Degree Holders - Eight years’ experience in teaching law or in conducting research in law in a recognized University or research Institution.

Note- 1 Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

4. Desirable Qualificaiton (s)- Ph.D in Intellectual Property from a recognized university.

5. Duty(ies)- Under the superintendence and direction of the Registrar, the Deputy Registrar has to pass orders on applications for registration of Trade Marks, hear opposition, rectification and other Trade Marks matters and issue orders, decisions and any other work assigned to him.

6. Probation- One year

7. Head Quarter- Mumbai with All India Service Liability.

8. Other Details- General Central Service Group ‘A’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The posts are permanent.
